From workshop to international presence
INCA Living grows from a quiet fascination. For René Ladefoged it began as an attentiveness to the patterns of nature and the instruments people have used, across time, to understand them. In a small workshop an idea took shape: to bring scientific heritage together with a clear, Nordic formal language — where function and aesthetics meet in balance.
With a particular affinity for stormglass and barometers, René has built a collection in which each design stands as a quiet witness to time, weather, and movement. Inspired by pioneers such as Galileo Galilei and the early voyagers of discovery, the universe carries a respect for the curious eye and the precise observation.
A stormglass, in this interpretation, is not merely an instrument but a piece of design in constant dialogue with its surroundings. A calm, visual reading of nature’s condition — discreet, living, and ever changing.
Today INCA Living has an international presence. Rooted in Nordic design tradition, we address a global audience that seeks simplicity, substance, and durability. The collections are curated with a considered restraint, where each form is reduced to the essential.

Our mission is to curate and develop collections that endure — in form, in expression, and in meaning. Through stormglass, barometers, and related design objects we wish to bring the rhythm of nature closer to everyday life: not by disturbing it, but by underlining it.
